SANDRA J DAMRON, Treasurer

TREASURER'S OFFICE TO BEGIN NEW HOURS
AND ANNOUNCES DATES OF
OFFICE CLOSURE THROUGH 2008

Revenue shortfall county-wide has forced the
closure of most El Paso County Offices, including the
Office of the Treasurer

 Additionally, beginning November 26, 2007
walk-in and telephone hours will change to:

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Treasurer’s Office will be closed
Friday through Sunday, weekly.

You may mail your payment to our office or you may use our drop box located on the northwest corner of the building.

The primary function of the County Treasurer's Office is the collection and distribution of property taxes in compliance with Colorado Statutes.

The Treasurer serves as the banker and investment officer for all County funds. Interest earnings provide an additional source of revenue for the County and its various agencies.

The collection of unpaid property taxes and special assessments is the responsibility of the Treasurer. Real property and manufactured home unpaid taxes are enforced through the annual tax lien sale with the Treasurer becoming the agent through which the lien is paid. Personal property tax enforcement is accomplished by seizing and selling the property when necessary.
